Baron Coleman’s case that Tyler Robinson was in custody and read his rights hours earlier than officials have said. His claim, shown as his claim; it is disputed.
When was Tyler Robinson read his rights, and where?
Podcaster Baron Coleman argues that court filings show Robinson was in custody and read his Miranda rights at the Washington County Sheriff’s Office at 6:25 p.m. on Sept. 11, 2025. That would be before the Discord confession was posted and before the time officials gave. His claim; it is disputed.

A defense motion filed Mar 30, 2026 describes a video at Bates 3996-R2 in which, at 6:25 p.m., Robinson is read his rights and says he wants to talk to a lawyer first.
A later state filing lists Bates 3996-R1 as video at the Washington County Sheriff’s Office dated 9/11/2025. Coleman says R1 and R2 are versions of the same video, so the 6:25 p.m. reading happened on Sept. 11 in Washington County.
He also points to the Utah County booking sheet, which he says lists the arrest as Sept. 11, 2025 at 10 p.m.
He says no filing states the date of the Miranda reading outright: his conclusion is a deduction from the matching Bates numbers.
His claims and reasoning, as stated in the episode. The filings themselves are not linked here.

What officials say
The official account is that a retired deputy called the Washington County sheriff at about 8:02 p.m. on Sept. 11, and that Robinson was in custody by about 10 p.m. Critics of Coleman’s theory say the 6:25 p.m. Miranda reading took place on Sept. 12 in Utah County. Coleman disputes both.
